the a.g.e.n.t. playbook

The method

We run the A.G.E.N.T. Playbook: Audit, Gauge, Engineer, Navigate, Track. Developed by DAIN Studios and Harvard Data Science Review board members. Five steps in order, from how your work runs today to a measured before and after.

Audit

Map the work as it runs today.

We start by understanding how a process actually runs: what sets it off, who touches it, where it waits, and what comes out. Underneath that we track who owns each step, what data the work runs on, and whether the systems it touches can be reached at all. The goal is to trade what everyone assumes about the work for a record of it.

Our agent Compass does the first pass free, from what you tell it. Discovery does the second in the room with the people who do the work.

Gauge

Score which processes are worth handing over.

We judge each mapped process on five things: how often the same work comes round, how settled the decisions inside it are, what the business gains when it runs well, whether we can reach the systems and the data it needs, and how much risk it carries. The goal is a ranked shortlist, so the first thing you build is the one worth building. The step is the Playbook’s. The scorecard is ours.

Compass scores from what you told it. Two of the five can only be estimated from a conversation, and Discovery confirms them.

step 03 / 05
E

Engineer

Rebuild the process with an agent as the main actor.

We redesign the work around what an agent can do, so the handoffs between steps disappear. People keep the judgment calls, the exceptions, and anything they have to answer for. The goal is a process that runs start to finish without stopping to wait for someone.

step 05 / 05
T

Track

Prove it worked.

We measure against the baseline set in Audit: the metrics, the targets, the timeframes, and who owns them. The goal is a straight before and after, and then a loop your team runs without us. What worked takes on more of the work, what did not gets fixed or dropped.

the endpoint

Functional State

The point where you run it without us.

We stay until your team is running the workflows themselves, against real work, with results they can measure. The goal is to reach that point and hand you the keys.

Where you start

The first two steps are free.

Start with Compass, which guides you through the first two steps of the A.G.E.N.T. Playbook. It takes about fifteen minutes and gives us what we need to set up a successful Discovery.
